However, a special forces member was wounded during the operation.
The operation was launched in Enam area of Logar city on Sunday night in which Darya Khan, one of the organizers of the attack on the VIP protection unit in Kabul, was killed, the statement read.
The attack took place in April last year, killing 28 people and wounding over 300.
According to the MoI’s statement the attack had been planned by Haqqani network.
“At least three other key commanders of Haqqani network, Abdul Rahman identified as Omari, who provided equipment for the insurgents in Logar, Qari Ershad and Mullah Hebatullah were also killed during the operation,” the statement continued.
The group was involved in other major attacks in Logar, officials said.
The forces also seized weapons and explosive devices during their raid.
